Long-time CPGA pro Ron Knight is enjoying his tenure in the GolfNorth family since being named manager at the 27-hole Foxwood layout in 2010. "Mike and the GolfNorth management team have shown strong leadership qualities, excel- lent business planning and great support for their staff." Knight, who has been in the pro shop end of the business since 1969, added that he feels the operation's goal "is to provide members and guests with a good affordable golf experience at a variety of courses." Although Garside has accomplished a remarkable business career -- and turned 51 earlier this week -- he has no plans to slow down. "We've made an impact on business in this area and are pleased with our chari- table efforts. We've had our ups and downs but I'm proud of where we are now," he explained after pointing out the golf company employs upwards of 1,300 in this area. While Garside has done his best without a post high school record, he's a strong booster of college and university for his family and friends. Twenty-three year- old Tyler has graduated from the University of Waterloo, 20-year-old Thomas has gradu- ated from Conestoa College and Timothy, 19, is enrolled at the University of Guelph.
