After a Isiah Umipig three, the Titans blocked London's attempt at the other end of the court. Working forward, Blazek was blocked by a Lightning defender, leading to two oppor- tunities from the charity stripe. With the score 119-117, the London Lightning called a time- out. K-W managed to gain possession again with a chance to win the game, but failed to capitalize on the original shot and a second opportunity caused by an offensive rebound. In total, the lead changed 18 times in Sun- day's affair. Despite the loss, the Titans do have some good news. They are now guaranteed at least a fourth-place finish and a playoff berth. The Titans are currently in third place in the Central Division with a 16-20 record. They are chasing the second-place Windsor Express, who have a 19-17 record. The Titans played on Wednesday in London, but results were not available by press time. K-W returns to The Aud on Saturday when they host the Orangeville A's at 7 p.m. That game is followed by a Sunday afternoon mati- nee with the Island Storm visiting from Sum- merside, PEI. Tip-off on Sunday is scheduled for 2 p.m. The regular season ends on April 29, with the Titans hosting the Windsor Express at 7 p.m. at The Aud. ajackson@kitchenerpost.ca Titans officially clinch playoff berth Annual Beacock Cup scheduled for Saturday at the Rec Complex The NHL Idol -- Quest for the Beacock Cup is scheduled for this Saturday at Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. The NHL Idol - Quest for the Beacock Cup game gives 30 local house league players and four goalies a chance to feel what it's like to be a pro for the day. Players are drafted to their team on April 25, picking their favourite player that they want to be for the day, receiving that jersey and joining their team. Game day festivities include pre-game dinner, transportation by coach to the game, equipment waiting in their assigned pro-style dressing room stall, opening ceremonies and pre-game introductions. The game will be recorded for future broad- cast on Rogers TV. Organizers also recently announced that any Waterloo Minor Hockey Association player who attends and wears their jersey will receive a ballot to enter into a draw for one year's reg- istration fee. The annual fantasy game is in mem- ory of Jakob Beacock, who played for the Waterloo Wolves minor bantam hockey team and passed away unexpectedly in 2014. The game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.
