Garbage tags for extra bags or cans A garbage tag allows you to set out more curbside garbage than the maximum limit. Each bag/can over the limit must have a garbage tag. Garbage tags can be purchased in sheets of 5 for $10 at Regional and municipal locations, as well as on-line. Find details at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/wastechanges. Tags do not expire and are non-refundable. Garbage tags are not valid for bulky items/appliances or at the transfer stations. Medical exemptions Residents with medical conditions, or requiring incontinence products, may qualify for a garbage exemption. Please contact us about the approval process for additional bags. Worried about holding on to your garbage for two weeks? In March, garbage will be picked up every second week, but that's okay, because most of what you throw away ISN'T garbage. Use the green bin and blue box (they'll still be collected weekly) for all your organics and recyclables. Don't trash it if it isn't garbage! Learn more at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/wastechanges.
