Notice of Second Public Meeting To be held by the Region of Waterloo regarding a Proposal to Engage in a Renewable Energy Project Project Name:Waterloo Wastewater Treatment Plant Cogeneration Facility Project Location: 340 University Avenue East,Waterloo Dated at Waterloo this 23rd day of December, 2016 The Region of Waterloo (Region) is planning to engage in a renewable energy project for which the issuance of a Renewable Energy Approval (REA) is required. A Cogeneration Facility will be installed at the Waterloo Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and will use biogas produced at the plant to produce heat and electricity. This heat and electricity will be used on-site at the WWTP and offset the plant's energy requirements. The distribution of this Notice of Second Public Meeting and the project itself is subject to the provisions of the "Environmental Protection Act" (ACT) Part V.0.1 and Ontario Regulation 359/09 (Regulation). This notice must be distributed in accordance with section 15 of the Regulation prior to an REA application being submitted and assessed by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC). (The first public meeting was held Thursday November 3, 2016.) Second Public Meeting Information: Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2017 Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Place: RIM Park (Room 104) - 2001 University Avenue East, Waterloo ON N2K 4K4 Project Description: Pursuant to the Act and Regulation, the facility, in respect of which the project is to be engaged, is considered to be a biogas facility (herein referred to as a Cogeneration Facility). If approved, this facility would have a total maximum name plate capacity of 600 kilowatts (kW). The main components of the facility will include an engine generator powered primarily by biogas, gas conditioning system and a heat exchanger system. The location of the facility is depicted in Figure 1. On Dec. 17, the team visited Kitch- ener Fire Station 4, where assistant coach Jeff Palmer is a captain. The boys were excited to drop off gifts for the Knights of Columbus Toys for Needy Kids drive. The boys were able to have a mini tour of the � re station and ask questions, but most importantly sit in the � re trucks. The team would like to thank their coaches Brad Palmer, Jeff Palmer and Brent Bieber and all the on ice helpers Nick Palmer, Paul Ewart, Graham Shantz and Gary Silver for their dedication to the players.
