Description
This is a handwritten biography of Gladys Uffelman from the Ellis Little Papers. This biography has been transcribed exactly as written. Ellis Little was a local historian, who was the principal of Elizabeth Ziegler Public School.On his retirement, he invested much of his time in researching and writing about Waterloo's history. The Ellis Little Papers consist of extensive notes, papers and historical works.

Gladys Uffelman the youngest daughter of Jacob Uffelman was born in 1896 in the large family home at Allen St. and Moore Ave. When she grew up, she attended Stratford Normal School where she graduated as a teacher in 1915. She taught the kindergarten class at Elizabeth Public school just down Moore Ave for _____ yr. During the 1950s, when the family wanted to sell the original home, a lot along Moore Ave was severed from the Uffelman land, and a new home was constructed. Gladys lived here until her death in 1982.
