Description
This is a letter sent from Dr. William Fischer to Sister Liobina Dietrich, who was his teacher at St. Louis Catholic School in 1890-1893. The letter was accompanied by two manuscripts of poems (see associated records).

In 1907, Sister Liobina started St. Anne's Convent School (now St. Mary's High School) where she was the principal until 1927.

Dr. William J. Fischer returned to Waterloo in 1904 from his medical studies in London, Ontario. In addition to writing, he practiced medicine in Kitchener and Waterloo until his death from cancer, in 1920. He was married to Caroline Kuntz, daughter of brewery owner Louis Kuntz. In 1918, he was appointed medical director for the Mutual Life Assurance Company.
