About 1888 Andrew Roesch began a grocery store on the east side of King St N where the Waterloo Stage Theatre is now located. Later he relocated to the west side (now 21 King N). He operated a thriving business, having two delivery rigs to accommodate customers who wished this service. His obituary tells that he died in his store while he was serving a customer. His wife attempted to carry on the store but in 1928 she sold out to I. Weber and Sons. The Webers soon felt the competition of so many similar grocery stores in town and sold out to the Victory Electric Shop.
