W. H Riddell joined the Mutual Life almost from its beginning. He was secretary for the Company from 1882 to 1907 and then was appointed Assistant manager until his death in 1912. The funeral was held in St. Louis Roman Catholic Church with Rev Father Spetz taking the service.

- This is a handwritten biography of W.H. Riddell from the Ellis Little Papers. This biography has been transcribed exactly as written. Ellis Little was a local historian, who was the principal of Elizabeth Ziegler Public School.On his retirement, he invested much of his time in researching and writing about Waterloo's history. The Ellis Little Papers consist of extensive notes, papers and historical works.
