Herbert Kuntz was another son of Louis Kuntz, owner of Kuntz Park Brewery. When Louis died in 1890, Herbert was not of age and his Bauer uncles assumed the management role in the brewery. In 1910 Herbert along with brother William became a vice-president of the brewery. After Aloyes Bauer’s death in 1925, Herbert became manager until 1929 when the brewery was sold to E.P. Taylor, head of Canadian Breweries Ltd. Herbert retired at this time but in 1936 when E.P. Taylor amalgamated Kuntz and Carling breweries under the name Carling-Kuntz, Herbert was invited to return as manager of the Waterloo plant. He remained local manager and vice-president until his death in 1945.
