- Description
- Photo of a building with a large pulley on the front of it. This building was likely associated with the Bridgeport Mill when the photo was taken in the late 1940s or early 1950s.
The mill in Bridgeport was built by Jacob S. Shoemaker in 1830. After Shoemaker, the owners of the mill were Elias Eby and Barnabas Devitt, Peter Shirk and Samuel Snider, and the Waterloo County Supplies Co-operative. On October 6, 1970, the mill caught on fire and burned down. - Notes
