infoymghon 2008 WATERMAIN CLEANING Cleaning watermains is a necessary maintenance proceâ€" dure that will reduce the number of incidences of disâ€" coloured water in your area. This cleaning involves operating hydrants to run water at a high velocity through the watermains to clean them. No chemical cleaning agents are being used. Between April 21, 2008 and May 16, 2008, The City of Waterloo Water Services Division will be cleaning watermains in the area bound by Beaver Creek Road to the west, Benjamin Road to the north, Weber Street/Parkside Drive to the east, and Bearinger Road to the south (see attached map). This cleaning will be perâ€" formed weekdays, Monday â€" Friday during the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. A detailed map and schedule that shows when the watermain servicing your property will be cleaned has been included with this notice. This detailed schedule is available on the City‘s website www.city. waterloo.on.ca under watermain cleaning. Regular progress Updates will be available via the folâ€" lowing: * Weekly progress updates will be published in the Waterloo Chronicle + Daily progress updates on the City‘s website www.city. waterloo.on.ca + Daily recorded progress updates at phone number 519.747.8600 (have your area map nearby). Customers may experience discoloured water in the identified & surrounding areas. The risk of receiving discoloured water is possible at anytime during the project, however there is a higher risk to residents durâ€" ing the day before and day of your watermain cleaning. If necessary, you may continue to use your water at all times during this cleaning program. However, if you notice that your water is starting to discolour, you should discontinue use, wait approximately one hour, then allow a hard, cold water tap to run for a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes until the water is clear. We recommend that you do not drink discoloured water. During the flushing program if you have an automatic water conditioning system such as a water softener or filtration system you may want to place them on bypass, until after your section is completed. 0 rlo fet Ia)F THEwC On your scheduled flushing day, we suggest the followâ€" tem before regular water use. ing optional precautionary measures to minimize the We apologize for any inconvenience.
