n some middleâ€"school circles, being a Igymnasl might incite more ridicule than praise. But two local gymnasts, twin brothers Jon and Ben Zinken, have become heroes to their classmates. The Grade 8 students put on quite the show at last month‘s provincial champiâ€" onships, with Ben winning first overall and Jon finishing second. Ben racked up three gold medals â€" in pommel, rings and parallel bars â€" as well as two silvers, in vault and high bar. _ o The twins have been preparing all year for the meet and said they were glad when it was finally over. â€" o "I was just relieved that the competition was over and that I had won," said Ben. While the boys certainly had some butâ€" terflies in their stomachs before the provinâ€" cial competition, it was nowhere near as nerveâ€"racking as the qualifying events, he added. Jon beat out his twin for the gold medal in the high bar, and finished right behind Ben for a silver in pommel and rings. _ Although the twins have spent much of their young lives participating in gymnastics o) 3 597 King St. N., Waterloo 519â€"880â€"1828 Registered trademarks of Boston Pizza Royalties Limited Partnership, used under license. © Boston Pizza International Inc. 2005 Highâ€"flying twins medal at provincial gymnastics finals The Waterloo Chronicle Team of the Week is the Waterloo atom MD Ice Wolves hockey team.
