The 2008 Synchronized Swimming Provincial Champiâ€" onships were held last week in Guelph. The meet brought together more than 200 topâ€"level synâ€" chronized swimmers in Ontario vying for spots in the Eastern Canadian Divisionals being held next month in Montreal, Que. The Waterloo Regional Synâ€" chro Club entered nine routines into the Provincial Champiâ€" onships and all of their routines qualified to move on to Eastern Divisionals. Swimmers qualify for title shot From the Eastern Canadian Divisionals, the Waterloo club will be looking to qualify for national championships in May (age 16â€"18 athletes) and June (age 15 and under athletes). Bringing home the silver medal was the Tier 6 team of Aileen Hodgson, Emily Mill, Aliâ€" cia Tracey, Alina Ko, Hunter Le Truongâ€"Nguyen, Katharine Hoffman, Maggie DiGravio and Sabrina Horner. They were coached by Kristy McDonnell and Michelle Dalgleish. A bronzeâ€"medal performâ€" ance was turned in by Tier 7 team of Christine Horner, Jillian Boa, Emily Verbiski, Mallory Burt, Erin Noll, and Krissy Einâ€" boden. They are coached by Yingli Hou. Finishing in the top five was the Tier 6 open team of Kayla Brooks, Samantha Hiller, Madâ€" die Carey, Marina Triebeâ€"Gravel, Kaitlyn Horner, Tess Gallagher, Olga Skarina and Linda Pham. They were coached by Carey Brooks and Melinda Poss. Brooks and Pham also took fourth place in the Tier 6 open duet event while teammates Triebeâ€"Gravel and Carey were 10th. Clubmates Hodgson, Mill and S. Horner finished sixth. Tier 6 duet event swimmers Maddie Carey and Marina Triebe Gravel compete at the 2008 provincial swim championships. _ susmmtiomoro Ko, a firstâ€"time soloist, finâ€" ished in sixth place in the Tier 6 event while secondâ€"year soloist Noll finished in sixth in the tier 7 event. Rounding out the trips to the podium were Boa and Verbiski in the Tier 7 duet event with a sixthâ€"place finish.
