The Waterloo Wolves major midget Triple A hockey team began the Alliance Hockey playdowns with a 7â€"1 win over the Kitchener Jr. Rangers. Corey Way led the way with a hat trick in the quarterfinals. Tim Stern added two goals, while singles went to MacKenzie Bauman and Caleb Redekop. Scott Nagy added three assists while Kyle Whilhelm had a pair. The Wolves only gave up four goals the entire tournament, while scoring 24. They faced Stittsville in the finals and the game was tied 3â€"3 heading into overtime. Waterloo scored the game winner to take home their second tourâ€" nament title of the year. The Wolves opened the tournament with a 5â€"0 win over North York. Jordan Witt earned the shutout, while Kyle Eggleston and Danny Campbell had two goals apiece. Waterloo then beat the Valley East Rebel 5â€"0 with Alex Elliot earning the shutout. They followed that up with an 8â€"0 win over Lorne Park and a 2â€"1 win over Cambridge. Witt earned his second shutout of the tournament against Lorne Park.
