This study is being carried out in accordance with the approved planning process for Schedule °C projects, Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (June 2000). The scope of the study includes review of the need and opportunities for improveâ€" ments to the intersection and the Wilmot Line northerly to the future extension of Columbia Street required to support future residential growth planned for the area, alternative solutions to address the identified needs, an evaluation of the potential impacts, and identification of a Preferred Alternative. Upon completion of the study, an Environmental Study Report will be filed on public record. Public consultation is vital to this study. A Public Information Centre was held on August 9, 2006 to present the initial project findings and to solicit comments from the public on the preliminary study findings.. The 2007 budget for water and wastewater services, which reflects the projected cost of providing water and wastewater services in 2007, is available free of charge at the Clerk‘s Office, Main Floor, 100 Regina Street South, Waterloo. The recommended increase is necessary to offset a projected increase in Regional wholesale rates, increased wastewater treatment flows as well as to fund the various projects that the City is undertaking for the purpose of enhancing water quality and improving wasteâ€" water services. The fees and charges proposed in the byâ€"law will not exceed the cost of providing the water and wastewater system to City residents. The proposed 2007 rate schedule along with the existing 2007 rates is set out in the chart below.
