Waterloo Warriors‘ Ciesielski named to Team Canada Two members of Kâ€"W Diving Club qualify for nationals The competitions are held by inviâ€" tation only for divers of various age groups who have met certain stanâ€" dards and wish to advance to the Canadian Junior National Diving Comâ€" petition to be held at St. Helen‘s Island in Montreal, Que., July 11â€"16. 25 at Barwon Heads Golf Club in Victoâ€" tia, Australia. The team features the University of Waterloo‘s Victor Ciesielski, who had a miraculous run at last year‘s Canadian Open. The' Kâ€"W Diving Club had a number of strong results at the Group 1 National Qualifying Diving Competiâ€" tion held in Quebec City last week. The site of the diving competition was also the location for the Olympics competition in Montreal in 1976. The Kâ€"W Diving Club had three divers invited to this event including C.J. Moore, 13, Jordan Anderson, 17, and 15â€"yearâ€"old Andrew Dolson. M Moore took gold in all three of his events. He won on the tower with a score of 309.75 after eight dives. Moore‘s score on the tower was within 25 points of the Canadian record set by current Canadian Olympian Alexandre Despatie in 1998. The rest of this year‘s contingent â€" all members of the RCGA National Men‘s Amateur Team â€" include Keven Fortinâ€"Simard of Roberval, Que., Louisâ€" Pierre Godin of Champlain, Que., Kris Wasylowich of Lethbridge, Alta., Andrew Ross of Dundas, Ont.. and Todd Halpen of Calgary "We went with a tremendous mix of youth and experience on this year‘s team," said Doug Roxburgh, RCGA director of high performance proâ€" grams.
