"I am thrilled to present it to our audience at the Drayton Fesâ€" tival Theatre." ‘Cash on Delivery‘ Written by renowned British playwright Michael Cooney, Cash on Delivery follows the mirthful misforâ€" tunes of remorseful con artist Eric Swan, who for years has made his living cheating the national Welâ€" fare Agency by claiming benefits for the imaginary tenants of his household â€" all of whom suffer from various ailments and disabilities. Just as he decides to remâ€" edy the fraud by "killing off" his imaginary tenants, welâ€" fare investigator George Jenkins comes knocking at But things are getting a little too risky for Eric. The hilarity continues with the arrival of several other inimitable characters, including Eric‘s unsuspectâ€" ing wife Linda, his wily accomplice Uncle George, a drunk council official, a mad mother who eats wallpaper, two corpses, one deaf piano tuner, several cross dressers and a washing machine with a mind of its own. The production stars perennial audience favourite Bryan Foster as the shady landlord, who delightâ€" ed theatregoers last season in such outrageous fare as Not Now, Darling and Aladdin. Paul Brown, who has elicited similar hysterics in Drayton Entertainment‘s productions of Caught in the Net and Tons of Money, makes a perfect adversary as Norman McDonald.
