A Public Information Centre (PIC) was held February 21, 2007 for affected residents and stakeholders to review and comment on the alternative measures and preferred solution. The recommendations are curb extensions at interâ€" sections and one midâ€"block location between Erb Street East and Hartwood Avenue in Kitchener. This study commenced under Schedule B of the Environmental Assessment (EA) processes â€" a requirement under the EA Act. Residents and stakeholders should note that since the PIC, City Staff received notification from the Ministry of the Environâ€" ment (MOE), that traffic calming was no longer a requirement under the EA Act. Subâ€" sequently, Staff will not file a Notice of Completion or Environmental Study Report with the MOE. City of Waterloo Council will consider the recommendations at a Pubâ€" lic Meeting and be the final authority on this study. This meeting will be a formal Public Meeting and is scheduled for Monday March 19, 2007 and be held in Council Chambers at City Hall, 100 Regina St. South and comâ€" mence no earlier than 6:30pm.
