In }.’007, there will be fee increases for a number of program and services offered by recreation facilities in the City of Waterloo. The following quesâ€" trons and answers will provide you with information about how and when the fees will be changing. Question: When are the price increases.in effect? Answer: Price increases will happen in 2007. For the most part, fees increases are either on January 1 or on June 1. Fees increases for programs that are not implemented on these dates willâ€"be phased in based on the typiâ€" cal season for that program or service. The approved fee guide provides comâ€" prehensive information about when increases take effect. Question: Why are fees increasing again? Answer: Most fees are increased on a yearly basis. The fees that have increased are due to inflation and greater cost recovery for the program or service. Question: Why are some fees increasing more than others? Answer: For some of our facilities, services and programs, the costs are recovered primarily through user fees. Currently, this isn‘t reflected for all of our facilities. The larger fee increases are intended to have users pay a higher percentage of costs through the fees. The larger increases are intended to shift some of the costs from the general tax base to individuals using the speâ€" cific services. 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 10 11 ThE City of If you have further questions about the fee increases your local Waterloo facility.
