The Waterloo Chronicle Team of the Week is the Kâ€"W YBA Bantam Select basketball team. The Bantam Selects won the YBA Bantam Select Provincial Basketball tourâ€" nament in April in the inaugural year from Basketball Ontario‘s new program of bringing the best house league players into a higher level competitive league. The team was made up of little sister Natalie Buttinger, in Grade 9, Linâ€" sey Austin, a Grade 11 stuâ€" dent, and Rachel Lorimer, another Grade 9 student, racing in a final that feaâ€" tured a number of teams made up of all senior comâ€" petitiors. Melissa Quehl was the alternate on the Rez‘s 4X400â€"metre relay team. The Resurrection team managed to gut out a time of 4:01:.83, with the elder Buttinger edging out a medal favourite at the finâ€" ishing line.
