Rice provides the right mix of arrogance and authority. bumbling and fumbling, as he hatches the offbeat plan to replace the missing AUOI renowned tenor with an inexperienced impuslun Olivia Howell brings plenty of passion and comic Mir to the intimate stage as Tim's wife, Maria, and Mr- nifer Stewart is wonderful as Maggie. a traditional gal who wants to heat up the waters before settling down with Max. Janet Zenik is striking as the lustful Diana, an ambi- tious soprano who will stop at nothing to advance her career, and 1.11 Gordon is hilarious as Julia, the prim and proper scrutinizing chair of the Opera Compa- ny's Board of Directors. And of course, no cast is complete without the outra- geous antics of scene-stealer Bruce Bricknell. who tackles the role of a singing bellhop with his own operatic aspi- rations.
