Curves for Women has created a fitness program that will fit into every woman‘s lifestyle! Four years ago Marlene Lamp and Marianne Bouskill decided to open their first Curves franchise on King Street North in Waterloo. Both Marâ€" lene and Marianne were members of the Stratford Curves club and both had experienced dramatic results on the program â€" they knew it was time to share Curves fitness secrets with the women of Waterloo. Two years after opening their first location, Marâ€" ianne and Marlene opened a second, this time on Weber Street. The busiâ€" ness continues to grow as more and more women experience weight loss and fitness success and share their stories with friends and family. This past April, they also underâ€" took a major renovation at their King Street club and doubled the space to better suit the needs of their clienâ€" tele. "It‘s nice, it‘s bright and spacious and just more comfortable for our members," said Lamp about the addiâ€" tional space. Curves is unlike your conventional gym environment â€" during each 30â€" minute workout session, members complete a series of resistance and recovery exercises designed to work every major muscle group as well as get your heart pumping with cardioâ€" OFF : aal m oY y BP es abstk o« Finds Reu taper Business Profile Summer 10% amt~«tings, â€" Consignment Store & So Much More I 5 421 Greenbrook Dr. men Kitchener (Forest Hit Plaza) Hours: Tues â€"Fri. 10â€"6, Sat. 10â€"4, Closed Sun & Mon '9 Mention this ad and get 10% OFF. Scarves, Capris vascular training The circuit is set up so that you simply join in at any station and make your way around the circle. The program is timed out on an audio prompter, so everyone moves at the same time. The best part of all â€" no waiting! All of Curves‘ machines use hydraulics. The resistance, as opposed to weights, is a safer method of muscle training. As well, it means there is no hassle of changing weights throughout your workout. Marianne, Marlene and their staff of eight get to know each client perâ€" sonally and work with them to achieve their fitness goals. When new members join, the staff at Curves takes the time to take them through the circuit, explaining the proper technique and body positionâ€" ing for each exercise and answering any questions that the women might have. Each member‘s body fat perâ€" centage is measured and recorded and subsequent measurements are taken each month so that clients can track their progress. "At Curves it‘s not about selling people memberships, we‘re about helping women to look after themâ€" selves better so they can do all the things they need to do," says Marâ€" lene. The fitness centre promotes positive self image and encourages healthy lifestyles both mentally and physically by incorporating good eatâ€" ing habits and making sure their clients exercise on a regular basis. In addition to workouts, Curves offers weightâ€"loss diets that members can incorporate with their exercises. As well, Curves has their own line of vitamins and nutritional supplements that are currently sold in the U.S. and will soon be available in Canada.
