Library looks for public input into planning of westâ€"side branch Thr Waterloo â€" public library is moving forâ€" ward with plans for a district library on the west side of the city, and is asking for community input into the study phase of the project. UOver the summer, the library board will be workâ€" ing with a consultant on planning for the project. According to library board chair Tim Jackson, the board has committed to bringing a recommendation for a site, partner and finalâ€" ized capital budget to Waterloo city council by Sept. 19. A community forum regarding partner and site criteria relating to the proâ€" ject is scheduled for June 21 at 7 pm at the main library on Albert Street. However, according to Jackson, the board recogâ€" Ecole U‘Harmonie, located in the former Harold Wagner public school, is having a community garage sale and car wash on June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Starting June 6th, 2005, electronic waste (eâ€"waste) will be banned from disposal at the Region of Waterloo landfill. In addition, eâ€"waste such as computers, monitors, VCRs and fax machines will no longer be accepted for regular garbage collection at the curb. These items can be delivered for recycling to one of our eâ€"waste dropâ€"off depots located at the Waterloo Waste Management Facility (925 Erb Street West. Gate 2) or the Cambridge Waste Management Facility (201 Savage Drive). A fee of $10 for each item for the first four (4) items and $25 per items for each additional item will be charged to cover the cost of recycling the eâ€"waste. ELECTRONIC WASTE BANNED FROM REGIONAL LANDFILLS Region of Waterloo PUBLIC NOTICE nizes that the summer months can present a chalâ€" tenge in terms of consulta tion with the community, which is why the board is issuing an invitation to citiâ€" zens to come forward with their thoughts on the proâ€" ject now. "We recognize that there may be a few people who are unable to attend our community consultation session," says Jackson. "Branch planning has to continue during the sumâ€" mer months in order to meet our 2007 building occupancy date, but at the same time we want to ensure that those who are interested in the project are heard and their opinions considered."
