As a player with the women‘s national team, her accomplishments _ and* experiences are unparalâ€" leled. as a gold and silver medal from the Winter Olympics. With a gold medal victoâ€" ry at the 2002 Olympic Winâ€" ter Games, Heaney became the first hockey player to win seven World Champiâ€" onship gold medals, as well The savvy veteran not only won the gold but was selected the best defenseâ€" man in the World Tournaâ€" ment. Heaney has played the most games allâ€"time (125) for the national team and leads defensemen with 93 points.
