The watermain cleaning in the west side of Waterloo which began April 11th has progressed very well. We anticipate being done by May 5th, approximately one week ahead of the previously published schedule. The schedule and map below (also available on the City‘s website www.city. waterloo.on.ca) will allow you to identify when we will be cleaning in your area and when you should be watching carefully for discoloured water. During this time we suggest that you bypass any water treatment or conditioning devices because you will likely receive discoloured water. If necessary, you may continue to use your water at all times during this cleaning program. However, if you notice that your water is starting to discolour, you should discontinue use, wait approximately one hour, then allow a hard, cold water tap to run for a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes until the water is clear. We recommend that you do not drink discoloured water. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
