Since then, the book sale has been the major fundâ€" raising initiative of the club. To the club‘s knowledge. this is the longestâ€"lasting fundâ€" raising book sale in the nation. The dedication of the members to the book sale is legendary. And the tradition continues. Carol Dixon, chair of the book sale committee, has a date with Vancouver, where she will take up a new posiâ€" tion â€" but she has arranged to complete the sale and then leave â€" the next day with her belongings and the club‘s heartfelt best wishes. Many members of the comâ€" munity know Carol from her responsibilities for volunâ€" teerts at the Grand River Hospital. The club‘s best wishes, gratitude and admiâ€" ration go with Carol. It takes dedication and determination to pull off the book sale. Already many skids of books have been sorted and made ready for the sale. In a warehouse, each day, women work hard to get as many of the books collected _ and â€" sorted through the early months of the year.
