Two charged in Sandowne Park murder Waterloo woman and Aj man from Northern )ntario have been charged in connection with the suspicious of death of David Johnston, 34, of Waterloo. Liana MacDonald, 37. of Waterloo, and Richard Davidson, 20 , of Dubreilâ€" ville, Ont. are both charged with first degree murder. On Nov. 1, 2004, police were called to Sandowne Park on the east side of Waterloo around 5 p.m. after the victim was found deceased in the park. A postâ€"mortem perâ€" formed at Hamilton General Hospital this week revealed that Johnston died as a result of strangulation. "I‘m glad they‘ve made an arrest," said Ward 3 Coun. Gary Kieswetter. "I think the whole neighbourâ€" hood is glad it‘s over." Kieswetter said council may look at changing the ward boundaries, or considâ€" er adding one or two more councillors. "It may, but they may end up leaving disappointâ€" ed. A lot of adults who deal with city hall leave disapâ€" pointed, too. "But I‘ll tell you, these kids get an A for effort for going after something they believe in. "There‘s also a lot of committee work involved, which could be looked at. We could look at either reducing or combining committees." The issue will be the topic of a public meetung at City Hall March 9, where neighbours can hear the students‘ appeal and decige whether it‘s something they want to support. "I‘m not sure if the vote‘s going to go their (students‘) way or not," Kieswetter said. "They‘re doing it the right way and going through the proper channels." over coffee or lunch.
