|erare o _TEA The Waterloo Chronicle Team of the Week is the Waterloo Wild Wings girls soccer team. The Underâ€"11 girls rep team spent their last summer weekend in London to participate in the John Henderson tournaâ€" ment. They won their first two games against the London Freedom and the North London Pulsars. Their only blemish in roundâ€"robin play came in their third game against the London Avalanche, but despite the loss they still managed to win their pool. The Wild Wings didn‘t stew over the loss and got their revenge a few hours later when they defeated the Avalanche in the semifinals to advance to the final game. The final game was a repeat of the championship final at the West Niagara tournament played earlier TFAM OF THE WEEK this season with Waterloo taking on the Greater London Falcons. While the Falcons came out ahead the Wild Wings finished the season on a high. Katie Cobbe led the way in net for the Wild Wings with three shutouts. Bantam Wolves open with big win The Minor Bantam Triple "A" Waterloo Wolves came out howling in their 2004â€"2005 league opener with a solid 5â€"2 win over the Cambridge Hawks, the defending Alliance League champs. It was a solid team effort as the Wolves outshot, outâ€" skated and outhit the Hawks from the opening faceoff. Mike Latta led the Wolves with two goals and an assist. Scott Nagy, Mike Halmo and Robert Hinschberger notched the other Wolves‘ markers. Todd Martin was a tower of power on the blueline, setting up two goals with some nice passâ€" ing. Other helpers went to Corey Way, Justin Roeder, Craig Eby, Josh Zehr and Mike Latta.
