During the three hout break between shows. as we stralled the Market Square area of Strattord and linâ€" gered over dinner. the stage crew bustled to break down the set of one show and replace it with another. Out with harsh prison walls and in with a luxurious cruise ship. The Count of Monte Cristo is a story of revenge. On his wedding day, a dashâ€" ing young sailor is betrayed by friends and imprisoned. Many years later. when he escapes. he is obsessed with two things: finding the woman he left behind and killing the men _ who DYNAMIC This year the government has chosen for Seniors Month. to focus on the importance of body. mind ang spirt for individual well being. At Terraces by Hallman. we are proud that this is our ‘ocas evers day o‘ the year Our key concept of Mind. Body and Soul «s prominently dispiayed on our brochure and s practiced in our homes each day to meet these needs. We believe this approach to the whole individuar is vital to help our residents in their goal to enjoying the best quality ot life possible If any of these three aspects of a person‘s needs goes unmet, we beheve it can compromise their enjoyment and fulfiltment of life to one degree or another. Here are but a few advantages of successfulty meeting these needs Furst. let‘s consider the Mind The centre of thinking. learning, attitude and emotion. it‘s not diffiâ€" cult to see why it‘s an important aspect of health and well being. The growing trend. which we see in all our retirement communities, is to pursue constant learning and selfâ€"growth. That‘s why we provide a teacher regularly in every one of our homes. More than ever, ongoing learning is an important expression of self. and helps us to feel more selfâ€"confident in our ongoing abilities and interaction with others. It is a satisfying way to keep interested and involved. and helps us to be better members of our community. Learning can also greatly enhance opportunities to socialize. It enhances a sense of self, of belonging. and can help to improve mood. Learning challenges and exercises the minds Speaking of exercise. think about the advantages of maintaining a healthy body. Ironically, the more fit a person becomes. the more energy they have to do more. There are great benefits of becoming and keeping tit, including the possibility of strengthening the legs for standing, sitting. and walking. It‘s good for the heart, lungs. circulation and digestion. Being fit may help to increase mobility longer in life, allowing an individual to have more choice about what they want to do and how well they feel physically. Strength in the limbs may also enhance balance and prevent falls that can cause damage to the body, including pain and healing time. The good news is, healthy muscles that have not been exercised for some time can often be built up again. This means that regular exercise can help strengthen muscles at any age. Please remember. however, before startâ€" ing any exercise program always check with your doctor. Being healthy in body and mind is a wondertul achievement, and the third key tor total well being is enniching the soul. Although it is not as easy to define or identify, it is nonetheless a key factor in our sense of fulfilliment. Having our spiritual needs met usually means experiencing a sense of peace. There are many ways in which people achieve this sense. They may fulfill this need through practicing their religion. through prayer or meditation. or even by seeking opportunities to experiâ€" ence a sense of harmony with nature. However that need is met, it is important to fulfill a sense of self Our homes include Bankside Terrace in Kitchener.
