The chief executive offiâ€" cer of the Kitchenerâ€"Waterâ€" loo United Way began his volunteering just like many kids â€" going doorâ€"toâ€"door asking for pledges for a cerâ€" tain organization. The particular group Thompson was collecting for was The Canadian National Institute for the Blind. He was immediately hooked by the satisfaction he got from helping out his community.
