Founded in 1967. the Brampton Tournament has grown into the world‘s largest female hockey tourâ€" nament with more than 390 teams participating from across North America The Ravens won their age group championship by going undefeated against some very strong teams from Ontario and the U S.. In the opening round, Waterloo played the Scarâ€" borough Sharks. Natalie Buttinger opened the Waterâ€" loo scoring assisted by Kelsey Hergott and Jessica Buttinger. Ravens win Canadettes tournament In the third period, Jessiâ€" ca Buttinger scored Waterâ€" loo‘s second goal assisted by Nicole Gehl and Sarah Moore. Both times Scearborâ€" ough replied to leave the final score a 2 to 2 tie. In Waterloo‘s second game the Ravens played Michigan‘s No. 3 ranked team,. the Aun Arbour Huskies. The Ravens signifiâ€" cantly outshoi the Ann Arbour team but were only able to beat the Huskie goalie on an unassisted goal by Gehl. Stephanie Snyder earned the shutout to preâ€" serve the 1â€"0 win. In the last round robin game, the Ravens played an aggressive Sudbury Wolves team with the winner of the game advancing to the semifinals. Sudbury took the lead on a goal with eight minutes left in the third period. _ However, after Waterloo pulled its goalie and with only 39.3 seconds left in the game, Jessica Buttinger scored on a breakaway on a pass from defencemen Megan Kroetsch and Rachel Piotrowski. The Waterloo She Devils won the Adult Open B Ringette Provincial tile in Mississauga last week. Waterloo opened the provincial finals with a 4â€"2 win over Thunder Bay. The She Devils then beat the Southern Masters 5â€"4 in overtime. Allison Eickmeyer was named the game‘s MVP. Eickmeyer was the game MVP again in the She Devils third game as Waterloo beat Mississauga 4â€"2. Eickmeyer continued her strong play in Waterloo‘s 4â€"2 win over Clarence Rocland, earning her third straight MVP award. In the final roundâ€"robin game Waterloo faced the host team from Mississauga and finished undefeated with a 4â€"2 win. Again, Oshawa had a 1â€"0 lead with only three minâ€" utes left in the game when Buttinger fed Briana Leahy for oneâ€"timer to tie the game. In the championship game, Waterloo played the Detroit Victory Honda team. The Ravens came out strong registering 21 shots in the firstâ€"period alone. _ But Waterloo had a hard time beating the Detroit goalie until Buttinger scored two unassisted goals. In total Waterloo had over 42 shots on the Detroit goal and only allowed a late goal with 42 seconds left to win 2â€"1. In the semifinals, Waterâ€" loo faced Mississauga again and came away with a 3â€"1 win. Eickmeyer was once again the game MVP. _ in the finals the She Devâ€" ils faced their archâ€"rivals the Southern Masters. The She Devils extended the lead in the second periâ€" od with Mulder scoring with 2:08 left in the middle frame. Waterloo opened the scoring on a goal by Bobbiâ€" Jo Schweitzer . The Southern Masters made it close, scoring with 45 seconds left in the game. But the She Devils held on for the win despite the intense pressure the Southâ€" ern Masters applied to Waterloo.
