The Waterloo Warriors came out on top in the Battle of Waterloo on Saturday afternoon at the PAC , going on a 10â€"point run with five minutes to go to outlast the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks 59â€" 56. Both teams struggled on offense in the first half as Waterloo shot 37per cent while Laurier shot just 33 per cent. There were five lead changes as Waterloo went into the half with a 26â€"23 lead. Waterloo came out firing in the second half as threeâ€"pointers from Mike Sovran and Graham Jarman stretched the lead to seven points. But Laurier came back to tie, although they never regained the lead. Jarman, Sovran and Chris Edwards each scored 10 points for the Warnors, while Laurier‘s Chris Caruso led all scorers with 13 points. The win helped the Warriors hold on to second place.
