It was ruled that thesformer local land developer misled immigration officials about his wartime service as an interpreter with a Nazi death squad in his native Ukraine when he was 17 years old. His citizenship was supposed to be officially revoked on Jan. 6, but Reilly stayed the order until he decides whether the citizenship revocation process fell short of, according to Oberlander, the princiâ€" ples of fundamental justice such as fairness and due process guaranâ€" teed in section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
