Mulching and composting are the most economical and environmentally beneficial ways to deal with your leaves. Tip: â€" Mulching your leaves with a lawn mower or other mulching device prior to bagging can reduce leaf volumes. (10 bags of loose leaves = 1 bag of mulched leaves) Loose leaf collection will begin on Monday, October 20, 2003 and run for approximately six weeks. Loose leaves should be raked onto the roadway and piled as close to the curb as possible. Rake your leaves to the curb as early in the program as possible, while the weather is more favourable. This will help to ensure that they are picked up. Residents who do not have their leaves out on time should deliver them to the Waterloo Landfill site at 925 Erb Street for composting.
