Because a new life, a new use, cannot be found, there is an endless circuit of refurâ€" bishment, followed by a long period of decline until a new fixâ€"up becomes necâ€" HRSE essary to keep this old veter an standing. I have become convinced over the years that the best way to preserve historic structures is not to make them into museums which quickly run out of inspiraâ€" tion, but to find a new use that will breathe life back into a building. I have painted many structures in Europe and the U.K. that have seen numerâ€" ous uses.
