The very furry dogs, many of which had to be shaved down to the skin to treat skin problems, and parasites, have been housed away from other dogs at the local shelter, and monitored closely by Animal Care staff and vetâ€" erinarians since their artival. "We had a lot of scared, confused and dirty aniâ€" mails, and it took a huge effort to get them cleaned up and calmed down." "The first couple of days were really tough on our staff, and the dogs," said Karen Kennedy, animal control coordinator for the shelter. After being housed at the humane society since the raid, the dogs are now ready to be adopted to new families, giving them a secâ€" ond chance at a new life. Since being seized in the raid, the dogs have been segregated from the rest of the canine population at the humane society, but staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to socialâ€" ize the dogs and prepare them to find new homes. The dogs now appear well socialized and ready to meet potential new famiâ€" lies.
