e Kitchener Waterloo I Symphony honours Remembrance Day with Memories on Parade, the third concert in Pops series, Nov. 8â€"9 at The Cenâ€" tre in the Square. Featured Kâ€"W Symphony offers Memories on Parade in the program for this conâ€" cert will be the best North American music to come out of the war years arranged by guest conducâ€" tor Howard Cable. An honour guard from the Army Corp Cadets will open the concert in a grand manner as they take the stage for the singing of O‘ Canada. The KWS has also approached each Legion in the area to nominate a vetâ€" eran who has distinguished his or her self through servâ€" ice both abroad and at home. One of the veterans who has been chosen is Fred Budd of Cambridge. Budd is a Second World War veteran who served in both Canada and England between the years of 1941 and 1946. He is also a talented musician who served the community musically by directing both the 1st Legion Band of Preâ€" ston and the Cambridge Concert Band for a number of years. Budd, along with the other veterans nominatâ€" ed will receive special tribâ€" ute by way of complimentaâ€" ry tickets for themseives and a guest to the Memories on Parade concert. The chosen veterans will have special box seats on the stage. In appreciation of the veterans, seats will be set aside at $19.50 (50 per cent off regular prices) for Legion members within the Waterâ€" loo region. Poppies will be available in the lobby through memâ€" bers of the Kitchener Legion, Branch 50, on both evenings. For this special occasion the KWS would appreciate it if veterans would attend in uniform.
