The Waterloo Coyotes won the Minor Atom MD Championship at the end of March by defeating the Cambridge Hawks 2- l. The winning goal came late in the third period to cap of a great campaign by the Coyotes. Coyotes bring home the gold The Coyotes opened the season strong by winning their first seven games in October and November. The Waterloo side con- tinned that strong play into December. reaching the semirtnats of the Single "A" tournament in New Market. The Coyotes followed that up by winning their first tournament title of the season at the Jason Cripps Memorial Tournament in Kitchener. The team won the title in overtime of the championship game of the Minor Atom division. The Coyotes returned to league play, where the fin- ished on top, with a 17-3-4 record.
