The next five steps involve â€" making â€" healthy additions to diet and lifestyle. Instead of dairy, Dodd favoured almond or soy milk and soy cheeses. . He â€" suggests people should exercise at least three times per week, both weight bearing and cardio. Dietary fibre and heartâ€" healthy nutrients are also important aspects of a healthy diet, Dodd said. Water should be a part of a regular routine, and Dodd suggests people should drink eight to 10 glasses a day. "It‘s a lot healthier than preserved meats." If fish isn‘t part of a rouâ€" tine diet already, Dodd said it‘s a great addition. . "People should increase their intake of fish, especialâ€" ly cold water fish, which contain special oils and are lower in cholesterol," he Whole grains, vegetables, nuts, seeds or legumes, and raw fruits are highly recomâ€" mended. "There are many natural strategies people can utilize to improve their chances against heart disease," Dodd said. "They can significantly decrease risk."
