TEAM OF THE WEEK This week‘s Waterloo Chronicle Team of the Week is Waterloo Minor Atom Double "A" Bees hockey team. The Bees recently brought home the gold from the North York Knights 2002 Challenge hockâ€" ey tournament. In roundâ€"robin the Bees opened up the tournament with a 6â€"0 win over the host Knights. Leading the way was Scott McNamara with two goals. Marc Pearson, Ryan Sonnenburg and Rory Landy and Brent Harvey. Chad Nelson recorded the shutout. The Bees went on to defeat the North London Nationals 2â€"0 with goals from Trevor Young and Harvey. Charles Williams earned the shutout for the Bees. The Waterloo club finished up the roundâ€" robin with a 4â€"0 loss. That earned the Bees a berth to the semifinals, where they were in tough against a Cambridge team. The managed to hold off Cambridge 3â€"1 to earn a berth to the finals. Sonnenburg, Simon Gordner and Corey Way scored for the Bees. In the finals the Bees buzzed to a 2â€"1 win over the Barrie Flyers. Pearson and Way scored for Waterloo with assist to %bsh Herd, McNamara, Harvey and Young. Nelson also had another strong game for the Bees between the pipes. Kristy Bauer was second in the Novice 2 allâ€"around and first on the beam. Brealyn Smallwood was third, while Karley Maine was fourth. Kelly Haid was second in the Preâ€"novice 2 allâ€"around, with a first in the beam, secâ€" ond on the vault and floor, and a third on the bars. In the Preâ€"Junio# 2 comâ€" petition, Caley Hoediono was first in the allâ€"around, and first in the bars and beam. In the Junior 2 competiâ€" tion, Rebecca Lichti was first in the allâ€"around and first on the vault. Joy Barth was fourth in the Junior 2 allâ€"around and second on the vault.
