During yhajor snow storms all streets are generally cleared within 15 hours in the following priority: 1) Major arterial roads and Uptown streets 2) Secondary roads, bus routes and high traffic rural roails 3) Local roads The City of Waterloo is divided into 12 plow routes each of these plow routes is further divided into subâ€"are; A, B and C. With each new snow storm the plow operators are instructed to start in a different subâ€"area. So for the first * storm they may start in your area first but the next storm you may be last on the plow route. The Winter Snow Line 747â€"8600 is active during main snow clearing operations. Pile all snow from your driveway and walks on your property â€" not the road. Clear your walkways within 24 hours to be pedestrian friendly and avoid being fined. Keep back from the snow plow equipment and give them plenty of room when passing â€" Snow removal vehicles must back up from time to time. Please be patient. All streets will be plowed! On your garbage day, place your garbage and recycling containers, close to the road edge but, if possible, in your driveway so they do not interfere with snow removal.
