Hortian brings home another medal It takes them awhile to acclimate themselves before their talent finally asserts itself. enever _ athletes W:‘nakes the jump to the next level of competition, there‘s always a transition period. But every once in a while there comes along a talent who breaks that natural proâ€" gression _ And â€" Bluevale‘s Adam Hortian is proving to be one of those athletes. After winning gold at the OFSAA junior crossâ€"county finals last year with a 34 secâ€" ond margin over the rest of the field, Hortian made the jump to senior and came within a second of claiming his second consecutive allâ€" Ontario gold. Oshawa‘s Joe Dionne was the favourite going into the race as the OAC student was looking for his second straight gold medal as he wound down his high school career. Dionne did come out on top again, but Hortian, a 17â€" yearâ€"old Grade 12 student at Bluevale, gave the favourite a run for his money at the Glouchester race course, featuring a 7.2 km circuit, nearly catching him with his final kick.
