Furthermore, Poth can‘t understand why the region picks up his recyclables each week yet claims it‘s impossible to send in a truck for garbage pickâ€"up. Poth said prior to the switch in responsibilâ€" ity, the City of Waterloo also refused to pick up his garbage. However, the city at least offered a rebate which shaved some of the cost off hiring a contractor. The City of Kitchener also offered the rebate to its residents who didn‘t qualify for service.
