St. Jude‘s Tutoring School is an after hours school for elementary and high school students who want to achieve to the best of their ability. St. Jude‘s Tutoring Schools provide many different "clubs" designed to give students an educational advantage in their home schools. These clubs are mini classes that not only provide the individualized instruction needed but they also provide an opportunity to learn how to learn in a larger classroom setting that cannot be achieved in a one, two, or threeâ€"toâ€" one tutoring situation. With 1, 2 or 3â€"toâ€"one tutoring the student‘s academic performance improves only while the tutoring is occurring. Under this system, students become dependant upon the tutor rather than developing independent learning skills and tend to need tutoring year after year. The clubs at St. Jude‘s Tutoring Schools help students to learn how to learn. It is the goal of St. Jude‘s to give students the skills to achieve in their home school without reliance upon a tutor. The Warriors anticipated a very tough game against the Yoewomen and came ready to play, outscoring their opposition 54 â€"5. o0 The first 10 minutes of the game had the Warriors a little worried as it took some time for the Waterlooâ€"side to settle into their first playoff game. York ran at them very hard on offence, gaining some good territory; but once the Warriors got their legs under them, the tide turned against the Torontoâ€"based school. The Waterloo forwards were very quick to the ball, often driving off the opposiâ€" tion and covering to set up some nice backâ€" line plays. Rookie Melissa Cesana opened up the scoring after receiving a great twoâ€"onâ€" one pass from teammate Sara Fscobar, who was on a great open field run. Five minutes later veteran Kerri Webb made a great looping run to the outside and scored a try. The Warrior pack continâ€" ued to pound the York forâ€" wards, driving them back into their own end. The pack entered the York 22 and popped the the ball to veterâ€" an Chrissy Gordon, who was driven into the end zone by the forwards for another try. A few minutes later the best try of the day was scored by veteran Meg Goemans. it started with a quick ruck on the left side of the field, and great movement to the outâ€" side right. The ball went down the back line and was popped back inside, while the forâ€" wards rucked over quickly again then it came out again down the line to Goemans, pionship in KW Oktoberfest‘s newest event, the Cowan Wright Beauchamp Oktoberfest Curting Classic last weekend.
