" _ HYDRANT TESTING â€" MAINTENANCE PROGRAM The City of Waterloo Water Regulation Byâ€"law #90â€"62 regulates and restricts the date and time in which lawns and gardens can be watered. The watering of lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs or any other outdoor plant by means of a hose or other attachment connected to the municipal water system is prohibited except as follows: + Premises with municipal addresses having even numbers may water between 7:00 The City of Waterloo Fire Department is conducting scheduled maintenance of fire hydrants. This on going program is designed to ensure that the hydrants will operate properly when needed. This year‘s program will involve all hydrants in the City and should be completed by the end of November. a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on even numbered calendar days. + Premises with municipal addresses having odd numbers may water between 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on odd numbered calendar days. This maintenance program is quite routine. However, it may cause some temporary inconveniences such as poor water pressure and in some cases, coloured water. If coloured water is detected, please open a cold, hard water tap and allow the water to run a few minutes until it clears. This situation is temporary. Watering of newly planted sod, trees, omamental shrubs and flower gardens is permitted during installation and during the 24 hours following the completion of the installation. Lawns being treated with any pesticide, herbicide spray or fertilizer may be watered while being treated and during the following 24 hours after application. Inquiries and complaints should be directed to the Byâ€"law Enforcement Department at 747â€"8785. Should a water supply ban be declared by the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, the provisions set out above would be void. Inquiries and complaints pertaining to a total watering ban should be directed to the Regional Byâ€"law Enforcement Department at 575â€"4591. City of Waterloo Unlities and the City of Waterloo Fire Department thank you for your coâ€"operation and understanding. Any questions or concerns should be directed to Deb McKean, Utilities Customer Service Coâ€"Ordinator, at 747â€"8613. "UUHULLIILLNLOPOYAIE: /s THE CITY OF @ Waterloo LAWN & GARDEN WATERING COMMUNITY INFORMATION 886â€"1 550 This program qualifies for High School Community Service hours for graduation! What a great way to get your hours while having fun & gaining valuable leadership skills! In February, 2001, the Waterloo Region District School Board approved their recâ€" ommendation to close Brighton and Harold Wagner Public Schools. The City of Waterloo is now evaluating the feasibility of the possible acquisition of Brighton and/or Harold Wagner Public Schools. This evaluation could result in a decision that the City should not acquire either of the properties, or it may conclude that acquisition of one, or both, or any part of these school properties, is desirable. Ultimately the School Board controls the sale of these sites and must adhere to the process set out in the Provincial Regulations. In order for the City to come to a better understanding of community interests, we are inviting interest groups, community groups, service clubs and other similar groups to submit expressions of interest to participate with the City as potential operating partners in possible reâ€"use of the schools and/or adjacent property. This is an exploratory approach, and there is no commitment on the part of the City to acquire these sites. Your letier should include background information regarding your organization, your interest in one or both of these sites, your proposal for use and your suggesâ€" tion for an operating partnership arrangement with the City. Additional informaâ€" tion that should be included in your submission is set out in Report DSâ€"01â€"35. A copy of this report can be obtaired by contracting Anne Marie Phelan at 886â€"1 551 ext. 2272. Your letter should be submitted by Friday, September 14, 2001, to: (Age 14 â€" 18) Gain valuable leadership experience while having fun and meeting new people!
