The Planning Act requires the Region to determine the need to revise the ROPP at least every five years. The purpose of the special public meeting is to consider the need to revise the policies contained in the Plan. This review of the ROPP relates to the entire planning area of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. At this point, Regional Council has been asked to consider a seleciive rather than a comprehensive review of the policies (staff report Pâ€"01â€"053), since the policies have generally been viewed as being current and appropriate since their approval in 1995. The policy areas recommended for consideration include: City/Township Urban Area expansions to accommodate growth of industrial, commercial and institutional uses; incorporation of key policies related to Regional infrastructure Master Plans; updating of environmental policies and designations, crime prevention policies; policies related to the Beverly Area in North Dumfries; and any necessary housekeeping matters. Implementation studies and guidelines regarding the following matters have also been recommended for consideration including: trailer parks, golf courses, minimum farm size, update _ of _ contaminated _ sites _ protocol, Environmentally â€" Sensitive Policy Areas and Environmental Impact Statements. Other matters may be considered based on input received at the special public meeting. The special public meeting as it relates to the ROPP review is called pursuant to Subsection 26(2) of the Planning Act, R.S.0. 1990, c. P. 13 as amended for the purpose of providing information and receiving comments from the public. No decision will be made on any amendment(s) to the ROPP at this meeting.
