Barrage brings its high energy show ‘A Violin Sings, A Fiddle dances‘ to Kâ€"W arrage, the exciting Bwotldbea( musical troupe that has captiâ€" vated â€" audiences . across Europe and North America, will make its debut perforâ€" mance at The Centre In The Square June 4 at 7:30 p.m. Hot on the heels of their wildly _ successful North American _ tour, _ which included â€" the cities of Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Washington, New York, Philadelphia, Boston and â€" hometown â€" Calgary, Barrage now embarks on a sixâ€"week Canadian Tour. Since its creation in 1996, Barrage has seen the world over, playing to audiences‘ applause _ and critical acclaim. Known for their eclectic _ instrumentation and dynamic stage presâ€" ence, this hot young troupe performs a mix of "worldâ€" beat" music that highlights its amazing versatility and virtuosity. Through the medium of seven vialinists, two percusâ€" sionists, a guitarist and a bass player, audiences of all types are equally drawn in and charmed by the highly unique theatrical and interâ€" national music style of Barrage. Audiences had a chance TOWIK to preview this amazing talâ€" ent as Barrage was featured on PBS in December 2000. This special presentation, entitled Barrage: The World on Stage, showcased the troupe‘s repertoire. Like the heartâ€"pounding _ producâ€" tions of Riverdance, Stomp and Cirque du Soleil that defy traditional descripâ€" tions, Barrage is an experiâ€" ence that must be seen to be believed.
