Laurier students present Campus Fringe 2001 he â€" Wilfrid â€" Laurier I University _ Theatre Collective and the University Players will preâ€" sent Campus Fringe 2001, a callection of plays directed by and starring Laurier stuâ€" dents. Campus Fringe 2001 will run from March 8â€"10, and 16â€"17 at 7 p.m. in the Studio Theatre at 65B Lodge Street. Campus Fringe features five plays this year, including two written by students. "Tough‘" by Canadian playwright George E Walker, is the story of three teenagers who meet in a park to confront the realities of life and growing up, and is directed by Amy Neufeld. "The Idiot Dinner" by Francis Veber, translated from French by Nolan Bauerle, is a comedy about a wealthy man who invites idiots to dinner to laugh at their expense. Katie Gilbert directs "The Insanity of Mary Girard", by Lanie Robertson, which folâ€" lows the trials of Mary as she is trapped in a mental hosâ€" pital and forced to face the demons of her past. Returning to the Fringe this year is playwright and director Michael Kearns. His entry is a murder mystery entitled "All Aboard", set in 1935 on a train travelling from Los Angeles to New York. A newcomer to Fringe, Colleen Nicholls is directing her play "The Trials and Tribulations of Alena von Sueden", which revolves around a washed â€"up actress who reminisces about her past with a psychiatrist. Campus Fringe 2001 will showcase some of Laurier‘s best theatrical talent, and promises to be an entertainâ€" ing theatre festival. While not all plays will be featured every night, two or three plays will run per night. _ March 8 will feature "The Insanity of Mary Girard", "Tough!", and "All Aboard". On March 9, "The Idiot Dinner", "All Aboard", and "The _ Insanity of Mary Girard" will run. March 10 will feature "All Aboard", "Mary Girard", and "The Idiot Dinner".
