The City of Waterloo will begin yearâ€"round enforcement of the overnight parking restriction beginning April 1, 2000. Under the City of Waterloo Traffic Byâ€"law #83â€"19, parking is not permitted on any city street between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. seven days a week. Every household within the City of Waterloo will be allowed a maximum of nine (9) exemptions per year. These exemptions will be permitted for visitors and/or extenuating circumstances that do not permit household vehicle(s) from parking in the residential driveway. The City, upon conâ€" firming there is road maintenance required in the area or if snow removal is necessary, may deny exemptions. All households must regâ€" ister any vehicle that will be parked on the City street between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Tickets issued as a result of failâ€" ing to register a vehicle will not be cancelled. Residents must call 747â€"8559 prior to 2:00 a.m. to register their vehicle(s). The City of Waterloo posts the overnight parking restrictions, as well as the parking limit of three consecutive hours on all city streets unless othâ€" erwise posted, at the city limits.
