The team brought home a record 16 medals from the 2000 Great Lakes Open Judo Championship in Jackson, Michigan Oct. 8. The tournament featured a number of teams from the U.S. and Canada, with the Asahi Judo Club bringing home five gold, seven silver and four bronze. In addition to his silver medal, Brian Knetsch also brought home a special trophy for the best fighting spirit in the junior boys 9â€"10 age category. Winning gold medals, by age group, youngest to oldest, were Nick Ruge, Suzanne Parry, Aneta Mozdzen, Janeen Heinbecker and Barry Williams. Silver medal winners, by age group, were Jerrica Li, Knetsch David Teper, Tyler Pamper yourself on the most powerful terms. Ruge, David Harrington, Aneta Mozdzen and Williams.
